The Museum of Photography Braunschweig sees itself as a place for dialogue. We offer a comprehensive educational program to accompany our exhibitions. With artist talks, curator-led and family tours, workshops, interactive tours for school groups, and much more, we create a platform for exchange for visitors of all ages.

Photo workshop for kids
Here at the museum, everything revolves around photography – exciting stories and interesting techniques that you can try out yourself. In the photography workshop, we'll embark on a journey of discovery through the museum, followed by your own creative exploration. Together with our art educators, you can experiment with different materials and discover what makes photography so special.
Please bring: a digital camera or smartphone. Children without a camera can use a museum camera.
For children aged 6-12, once per exhibition, on Saturdays

FiBS – Holidays in Braunschweig
During the Easter, summer and autumn holidays, the museum offers a holiday workshop on photography.
The theme and age of participation vary depending on the current exhibition.
Age: 8-12 years

Family management
Once per exhibition, we offer a guided tour for families. Children with their parents, friends, or relatives are warmly invited to explore the current exhibition with us.
Cost: Admission is free! No prior registration is required.

birthday party
Celebrate your birthday with friends at the museum! A theme for the photo workshop can be agreed upon in advance.

Workshops
We offer customized workshops for school classes, kindergartens, and art courses. The focus is not on the traditional, lecture-style knowledge transfer, but rather on an interactive introduction to individual artistic visual language through dialogue with our art educators. In our workshops, we aim to foster participants' own creative potential and incorporate their perspectives, in addition to examining the artwork itself – because contemporary photography often addresses themes closely related to our own social and cultural experiences.

Guided Tours
Our short guided tour is ideal for structuring a lesson. Designed as interactive discussions about the exhibition, the tours allow for a focused exploration of the exhibition's content. Upon prior arrangement, the tour can concentrate on a specific theme within the exhibition or provide a general overview.
Duration: approx. 45 min. / Cost: €45 + admission (students €1, teachers free)

Guided tours and workshops
We offer individually tailored guided tours and workshops for students, adults and senior citizens.
Contemporary photography is conveyed and experienced through direct contact with the artworks.
An event is also possible outside of regular opening hours.
Prices per hour:
Guided tours for adults (up to 15 people): €45 + €3 (reduced admission) per person
For groups of 15 or more: €90 + €3 (reduced entry) per person
Guided tours for companies
The museum offers private guided tours for corporate groups at a special rate. For companies located in Braunschweig or the surrounding area, we are an attractive destination for internal events and for guests, clients, and partners with cultural interests. We would be happy to send you information about current exhibitions.
Group price: €80
Jour fixe
This format focuses on discussions and reflections on photography. The regular meeting offers all members and interested parties a platform to exchange ideas about photography and specific topics.
The event series takes place regularly every 1-2 months.
Admission: €5, free for members of the museum association
Happy Thursday
On the first Thursday of every month, the Museum of Photography offers free admission and extended opening hours until 20 pm.
Additionally, a guided tour of the current exhibition will take place at 18 pm in a relaxed after-work atmosphere.
