With this year's members' exhibition on the theme of water, the Museum of Photography Braunschweig presents photographic and filmic works by photographers from the museum association, thus concluding its annual program with another contribution to the Braunschweig Landscape's themed year of the same name. While the competition entries of four artists were presented at the beginning of the year in an exhibition organized by the Braunschweig Landscape, this year's exhibition showcases the work of a total of 52 members who have explored the theme artistically. Their points of connection are as diverse as the theme itself, encompassing photographic, artistic, and social aspects.

We cannot live without water; our existence, the cycles of nature, and many other aspects of life depend on it in their various forms. In times of climate crisis, this is more apparent than ever. Environmental pollution, ecological responsibility, and water treatment are all topics addressed in the exhibition.

Water has shaped our landscape since the beginning of life on Earth: from dewdrops and raindrops, to puddles that can reflect images, to lakes and the sea. Humans cross lakes and seas by boat, passenger ship, and container ship – these are also themes explored in the diverse exhibition.
