FRAUKE DANNERT
Frauke Dannert is a scholarship recipient of the Dorothea-Erxleben-Programm 2017-19, an artistic talent development program of the state of Lower Saxony and the Braunschweig University of Art.
Frauke Dannert's artistic work encompasses diverse media, which are usually juxtaposed in site-specific installations, allowing the viewer to experience different perceptual possibilities. Collages, photographic works, projections, murals, and floor installations are interconnected in an abstract way, both thematically and formally. While the Cologne-based artist's early works often incorporated architectural fragments into collages and later into her own pictorial and spatial compositions, her current works frequently reference the formal vocabulary of plants.
At the Museum of Photography, Frauke Dannert presents an installation work specially designed for the rooms in Torhaus 2 as the conclusion of her scholarship within the framework of the Dorothea-Erxleben-Programme for equal opportunities – the artistic talent promotion of the state of Lower Saxony and the Braunschweig University of Art.
MULTIPLE EXPOSURE
An exhibition featuring students from the HBK Braunschweig, in collaboration with Frauke Dannert
Alongside Frauke Dannert's solo exhibition in Gatehouse 2 of the Museum of Photography Braunschweig, the exhibition "Multiple Exposure" is presented in Gatehouse 1 as a project with and by students of the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK Braunschweig). This project was initiated by Frauke Dannert, whose collaboration with students at HBK Braunschweig took place within the framework of her Dorothea Erxleben scholarship program.
Over a period of six weeks, 10 individual presentations by the students will be on display, reflecting on their own artistic questions with regard to an expanded concept of photography.
Photography is understood as a medium for creating images: printed on paper, but also in the form of ephemeral light images in space or as a transitional medium to arrive at further installation-based, painterly or sculptural forms of expression.
