I wanted to do a work about extreme situations of dependency. I couldn't think of anything more extreme than depending on a machine to survive, especially in a country that is not famous for its healthcare.

On the other hand, I didn ?t want to do a documen tary work about an intensive care unit, but to provide a reflection on the precariousness of life, avoiding the spectacular, so common in today ?s media. The "immateriality" of a light projection on a wall of something as fragile as a photographic negative is as close as I can get to a representation of life.
