  "Endgame"

I use photography and computer-digitized imagery to create a representation of the eye's phenomenological perception of the world in an attempt to simulate a more precise rendition of this experience. This synthesis of two techniques allows me to transcend the constricting parameters defined by the camera's lens, shutter and aperture.

Poker is not a game of cards. Poker is about receiving, deciphering, and transmitting visual information. The cards are just a vehicle, something to look at whilst a more important spectacle takes place and money is relocated. Endgame is also a vehicle, one which facilitates my ongoing investigation into the disparities between looking at reality and viewing its representation. The cardplayers' viewpoints are facing each other in a simulated 1:1 size, inviting the spectator to move around and assimilate the conflicting signals. An exercise where the amount of empathic response is inversely proportionate to the amount of "space" within the installation. Inevitably forcing the viewer to vacate the square in order to see the work.
