Søren Lose's series Panorama is based on holiday slides dating from the year 1977 which he found at a fleamarket in Berlin in 1999. He has joined two similar takes to form a panoramic view which has something frighteningly distant about it, figures that seem strangely neutral and aloof. One man in particular attracts our attention. He turns up repeatedly in the photographs wearing a yellow rain-proof jacket. His recurring appearance suggests a continuous story, yet this consists of no more than a series of single events without any external logical context. What is this lonely wanderer looking for, what are we all looking for on our various journeys, and what meaning is to be attributed to these situations in the photographs?
